On 15 April, 2016, CRRC Corporation Limited signed a contract with Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) for supply 846 new railcars. CRRC Chairman Cui Dianguo and Vice-President Yu Weiping attended the ceremony. The prototype cars are scheduled for delivery in 2019, and are expected to be in service the following year.

The international freight train Chang’an returned to Xi’an with goods for the first time on Saturday after delivering exports to Kazakhstan. CKD9C diesel locomotive hauled the train from Dosluk station into Alashankoy port. The CKD9C locomotive was made by CRRC Ziyang Co., Ltd. Since 2006, CRRC Ziyang has delivered around 200 locomotives.
